“God Is In The Small Stuff … And It All Matters” by Bruce and Stan – Book Review

When we think of God, we can think about how BIG He is, especially when we see amazing mountain tops, the starry night sky, and beautiful sunsets in the distance of white sand beaches and tropical crystal blue seas. We can sometimes forget God is in the small stuff, after all when we live our daily lives, doing the mundane things like sleeping, getting up, brushing our teeth, making breakfast for the family, getting the kids ready for school, kissing our other halves off to work, driving or commuting to and from work, etc, etc, etc, why would God be interested in any of that? But that’s just it. He is. He knows you intimately (Psalm 139: v1 – 6 NCV).

This is why I recommend you read this book “God Is In The Small Stuff” by Bruce Bickel and Stan Jantz. This small 40 chapter book with their take on God Is In The Small Stuff, can open up your eyes and see God in a different light. To see God in the small stuff, and as you read, reflex and even pray on what you are reading daily, you’ll see a change in how you respond and see situations, people, and family. I’ve blessed several people with this book and they have found it to be helpful, even to my none Christian friends, who struggle day to day in finding purpose in the little things.

This page extract gives you a Bible passage and the days topic
As you read, it explains ideas and how God is
And finally each day it gives you some areas to think about.

Overall, I personally found this book to be inspiring, a little gem worth reading by any Christian or none Christian. It opens up how God loves you, helps you to understand Him, and how to approach situations. This is by far better and any so called “Self Help” books, which just want your money. This book has substance and worth every penny, and the added bonus as it doesn’t cost the earth to get a copy.

You can find “God Is In The Small Stuff” in various bookshops. It’s always good to support your local bookshops when possible. If you prefer buying online, you can always get it via Amazon at: God Is in the Small Stuff 20th Anniversary Edition

Fitting A Cat Flap For My Indoor Cats… Stop The Smell While Out All Day

As a cat owner where my cats are indoor cats, I know how difficultly it can be if I’ve been out all day, I come home to find the cat litter tray filled and there is a smell of cat poo wafting throughout the house. Yuck.

Well, I had an idea, which was to fit a catflap to the bathroom door where I keep the cat litter tray. I thought I would show how to fit a catflap to the door to show how easy it is to fit one and stop those nasty smells from floating through the house.

Answer to Prayer

As a Christian, Prayer is part of my everyday life just like millions of others. In a world we’re we live and expect things now, straight away and hate waiting even an extra 30 seconds for a microwave to finish, when it comes to Prayers being answered, we usually have to wait on God and His timing.

Rick Warren says it best:

Rick Warren writes, ‘When the request is not right, God says “No”. When the timing is not right, God says “Slow”. When you are not right, God says “Grow”. But when the request is right and the timing is right and you are right, God says “Go”.’

Youth, Elderly, and Respect

This was my Grandfather. He witnessed and was part of WWI and WWII. If you have children, teach them about our history, to treat others with respect and to have respect for themselves. If every person leaves this world in a better condition, than when they came into it, how great our world and society would become.

Justice And Mercy

www.bible.com/reading-plans/17704/day/15

I have been reading the Bible in One Year 2020 with Nicky Gumbel, a man after God’s own heart. You may think the Bible in a year is a long time and a lot of reading, well yes, it’s a full year of your life and there are various chapters. However, how many of us can commit to God in this way? How many of us can say they have read the Bible in its entirety? Some read the Bible from cover to cover and even though I won’t discourage this, I would say this, the Bible is many scriptures and text known as books which are compiled together, and as you read cover to cover, you will find the time line jumping back and forth. Hence why I suggest reading a daily Bible plan by someone like Nicky Gumbel, a well know author and man of God. This one particularly is very good and day 15 teaches about Justice and Mercy, which with everything going on in the world, in our cities and towns, in our neighbourhoods, in our families and even our own lives, we need Justice and Mercy, and even more so, we need to show Mercy and Love to those who have hurt us.

“Lord, Thank you for loving us, for guiding us, and for always being there for us. Even if we don’t feel it, you are there and always watching over those you call your children. You show us Justice and Mercy in what Jesus did for us, by dying on the cross. Help us to know you more, to know your nature and to show mercy to those who hurt us. Help us to forgive them and hold them up in prayer, that they will know you as their Lord and Saviour, in Jesus’ name we ask, Amen”
