Covid-19 (Coronavirus)

There is a lot of worry about Covid-19 and the rate at which it is spreading, including the amount of false information. The first thing is to stay calm, the second is to follow this link. It has the answers you need.

The symptoms can come across as flu and other viruses. This shouldn’t make you panic, so make sure you stay calm. If you think you have the symptoms, you need to isolate yourself and stay at home (DO NOT GO TO YOUR DOCTORS). Telephone your doctors and tell them your symptoms. They will be able to advise you on what to do next.

So follow the link above to the “World Health Organisation” to get the latest information and how to help stop the spread of Covid-19.

WAZE SatNav App – Travelling

I wanted to share my findings of this fantastic little app. I have it on the iPhone 5S and I believe it is available on other handsets and makes and models, you would have to check with your App Store for this.

One of the beauties about this app is that it is free, is always up to date and you can also have input on it as you travel.

For example, say you are travelling to London via the M1 and M25, if on the journey there are road works or a traffic accidents, you and other Wazers (that is what people who use the app is called) are able to make announcements to other Wazers.

WAZE gives you multiple routes, which can show you if any accidents or traffic works are on your chosen route. When traveling if an accident or road works pop up you are able to re-direct your route to miss the them, and if you are traveling and your friends to have the app, you can send them the route and destination arrival time. You can even send your current location. It has day and night mode and is quite easy to see with great voice directions.

I’ll add images (screen captures) to show what you can see and how it looks. The only thing I found an issue with the app, is that it can eat data, I have 2gb of data per month and I use this app for no journeys longer than 30 to 60 mins. If you have something like a talktalk £12 a month contract sim where you get unlimited calls, text and data included, it shouldn’t be a problem. I tend to use mine also for areas I am not familiar with or if desperate for a petrol station. It can also be used for finding the closest hospital A&E etc.

This app also has a point system to help you be motivated to use it and as you use it more, and as the more you travel, the more points you get, these means you will get some added extras. I won’t say what they are as this will give you something to look forward to lol 🙂

So, just to recap, this is an excellent satnav with a lot of features, which will help you when travelling long or short distances. You may want to keep an eye on your data usage when using it.

I hope this helps you out and please remember you are responsible for your data usage and and charges you may incure.
